The National Union of Journalists (NUJ) has expressed deep grief over the death of seven journalists who lost their lives in a tragic road accident in Gombe State on Monday.
Reports indicate that the accident occurred due to a tire burst while the journalists were returning from a colleague’s wedding in Kaltungo Local Government Area.
NUJ National President, Alhassan Yahya, said the deaths have shocked the journalist community in Gombe and across the country, describing the deceased as dedicated and principled professionals.
He extended condolences to the families of the victims and called on authorities to enforce stricter road safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
