The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arraigned four individuals, including three Indian nationals and one Nigerian, before a Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.
The defendants are facing two-count charges bordering on conspiracy and breach of trust, offences the EFCC said were allegedly committed while they were working at KAM Steel Company between November 2024 and September 2025.
The anti-graft agency disclosed this information in a statement shared on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle.
All the accused persons pleaded not guilty when the charges were read to them in court.
EFCC counsel, Cosmas Ugwu, urged the court to remand the defendants in a correctional facility pending the commencement of trial.
However, defence lawyers applied for bail, arguing that the offences are bailable under the law.
Opposing the application, the EFCC lawyer maintained that some of the defendants are foreign nationals who could abscond if granted bail, and therefore asked the court to fast-track the trial.
